Psychology Reflection

In my Psychology class we didn’t have many assignments that weren’t tests but we did have one assigned essay. For the midterm in this course we wrote an essay connecting what we talked about in class to something that happened in our lives or somebody we knew. I chose to talk about the brain since it was one of the most recent topics and I knew I had something interesting to say about it. We talked about the Cerebellum, a part of your brain located in the back of your head down by your brain stem. We also talked about defects that happen here one being something I had experienced personally. Chiari I Malformation is a defect that causes the cerebellum to grow down onto the brain stem. I was born with this and always thought this was really cool, despite the migraines it caused. It was really interesting that we talked about it in class because I got to contribute my own knowledge on the subject to what we were learning. I felt nothing in the course made a stronger connection to me than anything else could have. I did also learn more about the malformation in class as well which was really interesting to me since I thought I knew everything there was to know!
