My Course Description

Health Professions First Year Experience course is a major specific course to help prepare students for future classes in the Health Profession Fields. In this course students learn about the health professions and compare and contrast different jobs. We also talked about things like classes and how to integrate into college. This course was almost like a combined course that prepares you both for future major skills and skills to use in the everyday classroom. Topics include but are not limited to stress management, test taking, class registration, health fields, and more.

What I learned

In this course I am learning the basics for my HWOS major. As well as learning study techniques, stress management, time management, and more I also learned some very important things. I learned how to take pulse, blood pressure, respiration, and oximeter levels in a simulation piece of this course. This will help in the future with my health profession field. In future courses I will need to know these skills to keep advancing. We also did a lot to try and discover as much as we could about ourselves as learners.
